OUR CHEESES

ALL OUR CHEESES HAVE A STORY BEHIND THE NAME

BOROUGH BLUE

Named after the farm where we bought the cheese moulds from.

A rich soft creamy textured blue cheese with a distinct character.

OLD SHEB

Named after an older member of our Parish who writes in the local magazine and chronicles the history of Shebbear and its’ occupants.

This is our take on Manchego, a semi hard cheese with a tangy flavour. It contains lipase, an enzyme found in ewes milk.

BRAMLEY BARTON

Named after a local farm that Sarah worked at and who encouraged her cheese making in the early days.

A semi hard cheese with a mild nutty flavour. Our take on an alpine type cheese.

FORDA ASH

Named after part of the house name where we live.

A semi-hard washed curd cheese with a slight sour hint and a line of vegetable ash through the centre.

RUPERT’S CHOICE

Named after our amazing cat who sadly died a few years ago but who loved cheese so this is in his memory.

A semi-soft cheese with a mild buttery taste but distinct flavour. It’s an ideal substitute for mozzarella in cooking as it goes stringy.

COW’S MILK FETA

We add lipase, an enzyme found in ewes milk to give it that tangy flavour found in traditional Greek feta.
